General Terms and Conditions

Note:  Greenland Saga Travel (GST) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Iceland Saga Travel, LLC (IST)

  • Payment may be made with American Express credit card or by personal check, bank wires or money order made out to Iceland Saga Travel, LLC. See specific invoice for payment terms. Starting in 2010 IST/GST will not accept Visa, MasterCard or Discover cards because of excessive charges assessed by these firms for travel bookings.
  • A deposit of 50% is required within 10 business days of issuance of the initial invoice unless booking trip within 75 days of departure.
  • Final payment is required 75 days prior to the departure date. IST/GST will not invoice client for final payment but will follow up should payment not be received. Bookings made within 75 days of departure require full payment within 10 days of issuance of final invoice.  IST/GST will provide a paid in full invoice once final payment is received.
  • Change fees of $250 are charged after bookings are completed (not applicable for upgrades and additional travel services).  Once your Greenland flight e-ticket airline tickets are issued (usually within 60 days prior to departure or within 5 days of payment receipt by IST/GST when booking within 60 days of departure) a change fee of $300.00 per person will be assessed.  For domestic US airline ticketing, quoted prices are non refundable. IST/GST recommends that client purchase domestics connection flights directly with airlines or using an online booking engine.
  • Cancellation, if confirmed by phone or in writing via fax or regular mail, will result in a full refund of funds paid if processed 75 days or more prior to departure unless tickets have been issued. If the Greenland e-ticket airline tickets have been issued, a $350.00 cancellation fee will be applied. In addition for any domestic US airline tickets booked through IST/GST, the quoted price is non refundable. If the trip cancellation is confirmed and processed within 74 days of departure, no refund will be guaranteed, though IST/GST will make its best efforts to obtain refunds from vendors.
    Travel insurance is strongly recommended.  

General Terms and Conditions

  • All rates are subject to change.  GST is not responsible for breach of contract by service providers, which result in any loss, damage, or delay to you.  GST is not responsible for any injuries, damages or losses caused to any traveler in connection with terrorist activities, social or labor unrest, mechanical or construction difficulties, disease, local laws, climactic abnormal conditions or developments, or any other actions, omissions or conditions outside GST’s sole control.
  • GST clients voluntarily assume all risk involved with booked travel, expected or unexpected.  The traveler should obtain specific insurance. (See below for insurance coverage options.)
  • GST tour operators reserve the right to cancel a tour in any circumstances but will not cancel a tour within less than 4 weeks before departure except for force majeure, consolidation or the client’s failure to pay final balance.  If the tour is canceled for any other reason, GST will return all funds paid in connection with the specific tour.
  • No refunds will be made for any unused services, which are included in the price.  GST shall not be liable for any delays, deviations or omissions from any tour caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, nor for any direct or indirect consequences thereto.  GST shall not be liable to compensate the client for associated expenses incurred as a result of their booking.   GST acts only as an agent for the owners, contractors, suppliers or transportation and local operators/agents, and/or other related travel services provided and assumes no liability or responsibility for additional expenses howsoever caused arising directly or indirectly from actions or omissions of such independent parties.
  • Icelandair’s terms and conditions apply to all Icelandair flights booked with GST with the exception of payment and cancellation terms noted above.

Insurance

GST recommends the purchase of ProtectAssist insurance from TravelGuard International.  Policies can be booked by visiting this firm's website at www.travelguard.com or phoning 1-800-549-9037.  IST does not provide insurance purchase services.
